Additionally, progressing is pretty safe and not much risk as long as you aren't pushing too hard. Now this whole opinion of mine might be because I'm a hardcore Path of Exile player which has many, MANY unforgiving mechanics. How do you enjoy the grind? Hope this helps, happy gaming!Īs someone who has been playing about 3-4 weeks now (never played D3 prior), what I'm about to say is probably going to irk the hell out of some veteran players but my opinion of the game in general is it's far too easy.Įspecially for a "hardcore" game mode, I never stepped foot in D3 until a few weeks ago and made my first character as hardcore and here I am still alive pushing GR100+ and getting close to clearing echoing nightmares. Ultimately it's up to you and your playstyle. Not recommended for those who like to play casually an hour here and there. I'm a sit down and grind player though so hardcore is my playstyle. It's not hard to spread that out throughout the entire season. I did this all in about 40 hours of solid game play. In season 26 I managed to completely finish getting the set of akkhan in about one solid week of playing, I hit paragon level 252 and I have enough set gear to honestly go as high as I want in greater rifts. It makes leveling back up a lot more simpler if you do manage to die. Once I grind to 70 though I always craft sets of hellfire rings and amulets then I grind for the staff of herding. Not to mention there's a certain level of satisfaction knowing you've accomplished everything you have on one single deathless run. Once you've mastered the art of timing you're honestly no different from playing soft core. I find it extremely easy to do as well with the appropriate perks. It's also always keeping you pumped full of adrenaline since you can't afford to die. It's really only slow if you don't know how to navigate the game In terms of certain bosses and enemies. Personally I don't like the whole "I don't like having to play it slow" argument. I have only ever experienced diablo in hardcore aince softcore was way too boring for me. Just want a challenge and don't care about and/or need improvement: play HC So in truth, if you want to get better and improve: play SC. Especially compared to softcore, you will have far few iterations and far less real/relative time spent in the 'sweet spot' because you're actively avoiding it due to risk aversion. This all means that HC is a fine challenge, but is actively detrimental when it comes to 'making you a better player'. The more iterations and more time on the at or near failure (aka the sweet spot), the more quickly you will learn. This is contradictory to the basic concepts that underpin learning and growing, which are predicated on taking high risk and trying/expecting to failing. Hc players fundamentally avoid taking risks due to the extreme punishment with doing so. Playing hc makes you into a better player imoĪnd this is why.
